We were approached by Breez Bookz to design a website that would serve as a platform for their food information and recipe guides. They wanted a modern, user-friendly design that would appeal to their target audience of young adults and students. The website needed to attract and engage users, providing them with valuable content and resources.
On top of that Breez Bookz needed some advanced functionality to ensure maximum utilisation of their USP. Their first requirement was that there needed to be QR codes that linked from their cook book to the recipe pages. Secondly they needed the price for each item to be dynamically updated directly from the server of their partner, Pak n Save.
The first part of the website we developed for Breez Bookz is an eye-catching homepage featuring a 3D flip book that showcases some of their featured recipes. This interactive element not only grabs attention but also highlights their unique content in a visually appealing manner.
We incorporated animated designs throughout the site, where components fly, fade, and spin in a modern fashion. These animations enhance user engagement and contribute to a dynamic user experience, especially suited for their target audience of young adults and students.
For the core functionality, we implemented the Breez Bookz Recipe Format using JSON, allowing for an easily scalable array of recipes that can be added and updated effortlessly. This format ensures that their extensive collection of recipes remains organized and accessible, catering to users' diverse culinary interests and needs.
Addressing their advanced requirements, we integrated the Pak N Save API seamlessly into the website. This API dynamically updates the prices of items featured in their recipes directly from Pak N Save's server. This real-time ricing information enhances user convenience and ensures accurate cost representation, supporting Breez Bookz's commitment to providing affordable meal options for students.
This design approach not only meets but exceeds Breez Bookz's expectations by creating a modern, user-friendly platform that effectively showcases their food information and recipe guides while incorporating advanced functionality to enhance user interaction and utility.
